MOMBASA, Kenya — The Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) Mombasa Chapter has strengthened its push to foster business partnerships through sport after more than 100 golfers, entrepreneurs and corporate leaders converged for the second edition of its annual golf tournament at Mombasa Golf Club.
The tournament, which also featured a business exhibition, brought together companies from across the Coast to showcase products, engage potential clients and build new commercial partnerships.
KNCCI Mombasa Chapter Chairperson Abud Jamal said the growing participation reflects increasing confidence in the Chamber’s networking initiatives.
“We have over 100 entries this year, almost 120 to 130 participants. This is only our second edition, but the response has been overwhelming,” Jamal said.
He noted that the tournament has evolved into a business engagement platform where investors, entrepreneurs and professionals establish partnerships beyond the golf course.
Several participating companies said the event had translated into tangible business opportunities.
Ahmed Mohammed, Head of Sales and Marketing at Meghna Homes, said the company returned after securing new clients during last year’s inaugural tournament.
“We partnered with KNCCI during the inaugural tournament at Nyali Golf Club, and we gained clients from that event. That is why we came back this year,” he said.
Abdul Latif Mohamed of Heimat Limited echoed the sentiments, saying the company generated significant business from the first edition and views the tournament as an effective networking platform.

“In real estate, many meaningful business conversations happen on the golf course. Golf creates the right environment for decision-makers to connect,” he said.
Mombasa Golf Club Captain Feisal Lasker said hosting the event also helps position Mombasa as a golfing destination capable of attracting major tournaments.
The Chamber launched the annual tournament in 2025 as part of efforts to strengthen business linkages through sport, with organisers expressing confidence that future editions will attract even greater corporate participation.
