NAIROBI, Kenya: Global ticketing giant Ticketmaster has entered Kenya through Quicket, seeking to tap into the country’s fast-growing live entertainment industry and increasingly mobile-first audience.

The move will see Quicket roll out a digital ticketing platform tailored to the Kenyan market, with a focus on reducing ticket fraud, speeding up event entry and making ticket purchases more convenient.

Fans will be able to pay through Safaricom’s M-Pesa and Airtel Money, while Quicket will also distribute events through platforms including Spotify, Google, Meta, Bandsintown and Apple Music.

The company says the strategy is designed to reach fans where they already discover music, artists and experiences, turning digital discovery into ticket sales.

Quicket is also developing WhatsApp-based ticketing and AI-powered tools aimed at making it easier for users to discover events and complete purchases.

The platform is already working with Kenyan entertainment and experience brands, including Beneath the Baobabs, the popular Kilifi festival, and food discovery platform EatOut.

John Masembe, Business Operations Director at Quicket, said Kenya’s vibrant music, festival, food, and cultural scene presented significant opportunities for growth.

“Quicket and Ticketmaster’s role is to help build the infrastructure behind that momentum, making it easier for organisers, artists, and venues to grow, connect with audiences, and scale live experiences across Kenya,” he said.

Ticketmaster South Africa Managing Director Justin Van Wyk said Kenya’s young, mobile-first population and growing entertainment ecosystem made it an attractive market.

The expansion builds on Quicket’s presence in East Africa dating back to 2016, giving the company nearly a decade of local experience and partnerships.

The entry of Ticketmaster-backed Quicket comes as Kenya’s entertainment industry increasingly embraces digital solutions, potentially changing how fans discover, buy and access tickets to live experiences.
