Nandi County— St. Paul II Chepterwai Girls Senior School in Nandi County has received a 52-seater bus from the KPC Foundation in a move aimed at improving student transport and expanding access to educational opportunities.

The bus was handed over during a ceremony at the school attended by students, staff, and community members. Speaking at the event, KPC Foundation Director Joyce Emanikor said the donation is part of the foundation’s broader commitment to strengthening education as a driver of social and economic development.

She said reliable transportation plays a critical role in enabling students to participate fully in academic programmes, inter-school engagements, and co-curricular activities, noting that such exposure contributes to well-rounded learning.

The KPC Foundation, the corporate social investment arm of Kenya Pipeline Company PLC, implements programmes across four key pillars: education, health, environmental sustainability, and economic empowerment.

Under its education pillar, the Foundation supports a range of initiatives, including infrastructure development, provision of learning materials, and scholarships for students with disabilities through the Inuka Programme. These interventions are designed to improve access to quality education and support vulnerable learners across the country.

School administrators welcomed the donation, saying the new bus will address longstanding transport challenges faced by the institution, particularly during academic trips, exchange programmes and competitions. They noted that the vehicle will enhance safety, reduce logistical constraints and improve convenience for both students and teachers.

In addition, the school plans to use the bus as an income-generating asset by offering transport services to the surrounding community when it is not in use for school activities. The initiative is expected to contribute to the school’s financial sustainability and support maintenance of the vehicle over time.

The donation underscores growing collaboration between corporate institutions and learning institutions in addressing infrastructural gaps and supporting education outcomes in Kenya.
