
BAKU, Azerbaijan—President William Ruto has arrived in Baku for the 13th edition of the World Urban Forum, where Kenya is participating as a recognised leader in affordable housing and sustainable urban planning.
The Head of State, accompanied by First Lady Rachel Ruto, was welcomed by Azerbaijan’s Defence Industry Minister Vuqar Mustafayev alongside the country’s Ambassador to Kenya Sultan Hajiyev.
State House said Kenya’s participation in the global forum reflects growing international recognition of the country’s efforts in advancing affordable housing programmes and sustainable urban development initiatives.
While in Azerbaijan, President Ruto is scheduled to engage in high-level bilateral meetings with various Heads of State and investors to explore partnerships in key sectors including energy, ICT and infrastructure.
The President will also seek to expand opportunities for Kenyan agricultural exports in international markets.
Part of his itinerary includes talks with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev aimed at strengthening diplomatic and economic cooperation between Nairobi and Baku.
