The inaugural Africa-China Investment and Trade Conference (ACIC) will take place from September 24 to 26 in Guangdong Province, bringing together senior government officials, entrepreneurs, traders and investors from Africa and China to strengthen economic cooperation between the two regions.

The conference is organized by Treadway in partnership with four Chinese agencies and is expected to serve as a key platform for expanding trade, investment and business partnerships.

Organizers say the event seeks to bridge cultural and commercial gaps between Africa and China, whose combined population exceeds two billion people, while promoting collaboration as a driver of global economic growth.

The conference will attract more than 100 ministers and 50 leaders of state-owned companies from Africa, alongside business leaders, entrepreneurs, Chinese government officials, sponsor companies, over 1,000 African traders and more than 2,000 Chinese exhibitors.

Delegates will present investment-ready projects seeking funding from Chinese investors and lenders, while Chinese companies will showcase products and services tailored for African markets and pursue trade and distribution partnerships with African entrepreneurs.

Treadway will coordinate funding opportunities and mobilize the African delegation, while the four Chinese agencies will facilitate visa approvals for African participants attending the event.

Keynote speakers will include HRH Prince Zolile Burns-Ncamashe and South Africa’s Deputy Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA), who are expected to highlight the importance of strengthening ties between African and Chinese markets.

The three-day conference will feature project presentations, exhibitions, structured investor meetings and networking sessions. It will conclude with the announcement of signed agreements and the total value of deals secured during the forum.

Organizers describe ACIC as more than a business conference, saying it demonstrates how Africa and China can work together to position themselves as major players in global capital markets.
