KWALE, County—Kwale Governor Fatuma Achani is mourning the death of her father, Mzee Mohamed Achani, who died on Monday morning at their rural home in Bodo Village, Ramisi Ward, Msambweni Sub-County.
In a condolence message, the governor announced that her father died aged 74 after experiencing health complications while performing the Fajr prayers. She said he had been in and out of hospital for some time.
Achani said her father would be laid to rest on Monday at 4pm at the family home in Bodo Village, Ramisi Ward, Msambweni Sub-County.
“It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of my beloved father, Mzee Mohamed Achani, who returned to his Creator this morning,” she said.
The governor also asked for prayers for her family, relatives and friends as they come to terms with the loss.
She prayed for Allah to forgive her father’s shortcomings, grant him Jannatul Firdaus and give the family strength and patience during the difficult period.
The death is a personal loss for the governor and her family as they prepare to lay their patriarch to rest in their home village in Kwale County.
