KWALE, County—A fire broke out at the Kwale County Assembly on Thursday, forcing the evacuation of staff as emergency teams moved in to contain the blaze.
The incident disrupted normal operations at the Assembly, with staff forced out of the premises as firefighters responded to the fire.
The cause of the blaze remained unclear, while the extent of damage was yet to be established as emergency responders and county officials assessed the situation.
The Assembly, led by Speaker Seth Mwatela Kamanza, is responsible for legislation, oversight and representation in Kwale County.
