NAIROBI, Kenya—Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is set to embark on a week-long political tour of Kiambu, Kajiado, Narok and Nakuru as he intensifies grassroots mobilisation for the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Gachagua will kick off the tour in Kiambu Town on Friday, before travelling to Matapato Ward in Kajiado County on Saturday.

He will return to Kiambu on Sunday for engagements in Kiambaa Constituency, before heading to Narok East Constituency on Monday as he continues his political outreach.

The DCP leader will then return to Kajiado on Wednesday for meetings with residents in Kipeto, Kajiado West, where the party has been seeking to strengthen its grassroots structures.

The tour will conclude with a two-day visit to Nakuru County on August 14 and 15.

On the first day, Gachagua is scheduled to visit Naivasha Town, Soko Mjinga in Nakuru Town West and KANU House in Nakuru Town East, where he is expected to meet supporters and local leaders.

He will on the second day tour Njoro, Elburgon, Turi, Molo, Kibunja and Rongai as part of the mobilisation drive.

The latest tour is part of Gachagua’s continued efforts to expand the DCP’s grassroots presence and strengthen its structures ahead of the 2027 General Election.

In recent months, the former Deputy President has held political engagements in Western Kenya, Kajiado and Nyandarua, among other areas, as the party seeks to establish a wider national presence.

Gachagua has maintained that the DCP is being positioned as a national political movement, with its grassroots campaigns focusing on membership recruitment, strengthening party structures and engaging citizens on governance and economic issues.

The latest mobilisation comes as political parties and emerging political formations intensify their activities across the country ahead of the 2027 polls.
